A notification issued here on Saturday stated that Ogra in exercises of powers conferred under Section 6(2) (q) of the Ogra Ordinance, Rule18 (2) of the LPG (Production & Distribution), 2001 and in pursuance of Para 3.4.2 of LPG Policy 2006, the authority has determined the following reasonable maximum consumer price of 11.8-kg cylinder including distributor margin of Rs 70/11.8-kg cylinder for all the urban and rural areas of the country. However, due to higher transportation cost in AJK, Fata and Northern Areas, Rs 30/11.8-kg cylinder will be admissible in excess of the mentioned maximum LPG consumer prices:
Reasonable maximum consumer price for 100 percent locally produced LPG is Rs 1,477/11.8-kg cylinder ie Rs 125.16/kg, reasonable maximum consumer price for 100 percent imported LPG is Rs 1,644/11.8-kg cylinder, ie, Rs 139.32/kg and reasonable maximum consumer price for local and imported mixed LPG is Rs 1,479/11.8-kg cylinder ie Rs 125.33/kg, the notification added.
Companies have been directed to ensure that the LPG consumer price of their company do not exceed above mentioned consumer price. Now the product price in hilly areas including Murree, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Mansehra, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Balakot will be between 128 to Rs 142 per kg, while in plain areas including Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Attock Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar Rs 125 per kg.
At present in hilly areas like Gilgit-Baltistan, Fata, Balakot, Murree, Swat and Muzaffarabad, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Mansehra, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Balakot the LPG is selling between Rs 215 to Rs 175 per kg. In cities Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Attock LPG is selling at Rs 170 per kg. In Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad LPG is available at Rs 165 per kg. In Gujranwala, Jhang, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, Gujrat and Gujranwala it is selling at Rs 155 per kg.
